Biography
Dr. Sampath Parthasarathy is Florida Hospital Endowed Chair in Cardiovascular Sciences, Professor of Medicine and Associate Director of Research at the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Central Florida. Recipient of van Deeenen Memorial Award, The Ranbaxy award, Special Recognition by the American Heart Association, Jerome Markowitz award, SASAT Life time achievement award, and others. He is also a Member of several Editorial Boards. Research activities are focused on the fundamental mechanisms of the development of atherosclerosis and heart failure. Specifically, he is interested in studying the role of oxidative stress in the development of cardiovascular diseases and associated risk factors including Type 2 diabetes. In addition, he is interested in both the prevention and cure of cardiovascular diseases using nutritional, pharmacological, and life style modulations.
