Biography

Sampath Parthasarathy is an internationally known scientist who holds the UCF College of Medicine’s Florida Hospital Endowed Chair. Dr. Parthasarathy is a recognized expert in lipids who is credited with the co-discovery of a major cardiovascular concept – the fact that oxidized LDL is involved in the initiation and progression of atherosclerosis. Dr. Parthasarathy has a breadth of research experience and has published over 250 original articles, and a book, “Modified Lipoproteins in the Pathogenesis of Atherosclerosis.”He has won several meritorious awards and serves in numerous Editorial Boards. Dr. Parthasarathy received his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science and did post-doctoral training at Duke University and the University of Minnesota. In addition to The Ohio State, he has served as a faculty at the University of California, San Diego, Emory University and Louisiana State University. Dr. Parthasarathy also is an inventor and has a MBA degree in Technology Management.
