Biography
Sampath Parthasarathy is an internationally known scientist who holds the UCF College of Medicine’s Florida Hospital Endowed Chair. Dr. Parthasarathy is a recognized expert in lipids who is credited with the co-discovery of a major cardiovascular concept – the fact that oxidized LDL is involved in the initiation and progression of atherosclerosis. Dr. Parthasarathy has a breadth of research experience and has published over 250 original articles, and a book, “Modified Lipoproteins in the Pathogenesis of Atherosclerosis.â€He has won several meritorious awards and serves in numerous Editorial Boards. Dr. Parthasarathy received his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science and did post-doctoral training at Duke University and the University of Minnesota. In addition to The Ohio State, he has served as a faculty at the University of California, San Diego, Emory University and Louisiana State University. Dr. Parthasarathy also is an inventor and has a MBA degree in Technology Management.

Biography
He is a professor emeritus of Computer Science since September 2007 till now. He was a former Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University, Cairo-Egypt (1996-2007). He was a full professor Dr.of Computer Science at Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University from 1989 to 1996. He was a Director of Scientific Computing Center at Ain Shams University (1984-1990).In 1996 he was moved to the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at the same university. His research includes Knowledge engineering and computing, expert systems, intelligent medical and health informatics, and intelligent e-learning technologies. He has published around 400 papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings in these areas. He has been involved in more than 500 conferences and workshops as a Keynote speaker, member of Int. Program Committees, organizer and Session Chair. He is author and co-author of 25 Books in English and Arabic Languages.

His research includes: intelligent computing, knowledge-based systems, data mining, knowledge engineering, bio-medical and health informatics, e-government, intelligent e-learning and artificial intelligence technologies.
Biography
M Raj Lakshman is currently the Director of Research Laboratories and the Chief of Lipid Research at the VA Medical Center, Washington, D.C. He also has joint appointments as a Professor in the Departments of Biochemistry & Molecular Medicine as well as in the Department of Medicine at the George Washington University, Washington, D.C. He directs studies in the areas of Alcoholism, Alcoholic Liver Disease, Oxidative Stress, Coronary Artery Disease, Lipids & Lipoproteins, Metabolic & Genetic Obesity, Hepatotoxins and Gene Regulation & Expression. He joined the National Institute of Health, to work on Alcoholic Hyperlipidemia under the able guidance of Professors Richard Veech and Nobel Laureate, Hans Krebs. In 1979, he received the prestigious VA Research Career Scientist Award working in the field of Alcohol and Alcoholism at the VA Medical Center, Washington, D.C. He was honored the “Washington Heart Ball†Research Award in 1990 in the field of Hyperlipidemia.
